Julia founded her label with a focus on functional everyday items made from regional, biodegradable raw materials. The products are handmade by women in Manenberg, a townsip in Cape Town. The women work from home. Payment is made in cash on site – this enables them to earn an income independent of their husbands. They also have health insurance through their work and pay into a small pension fund.
